Siraknon

Siraknon is the deity governing the Sun and New Hope. He has his own chosen Baganihan later in the story.

His design is based on the mythical Minokawa of the Bagobo tribe. This gigantic bird was known to devour the Sun and Moon causing the world to be engulfed in darkness. As a cocept for design, I decided to focus more on its affiliation to the sun than the moon. To make him distinct from the Oriental Phoenix, I inspired the pattern of his feathers to the Binuwaya motif of Bagobo tribe's Inabal, a handwoven traditional textile. His divine relic is a set of golden solar rings  that radiate warm light just like the real Sun.
