Last November 20, Manila-based photographers’ collective FotomotoPH, together with Shutterspace Studios, Inc, and the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s Arts Management program, launched Fotomoto ‘21 Invitational: Portraits, a multi-venue exhibit showcasing talent in the realm of visual arts.

This year’s theme focuses on portrait photography, apropos of the time spent in lockdown due to the pandemic. “As a society still reeling from the pandemic, portraits play with and question our sense of familiarity, estrangement, and even of solidarity,” the FotomotoPH team said in a statement.

The exhibit will take place in multiple venues, with the three main exhibition locations being KONDWI in Poblacion, Makati, The Alley at Karrivin Plaza along Chino Roces Jr. Extension, and Manila House Private Members Club  in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The different venues for Fotomoto ‘21 will feature their own unique sets of photographs.

Featuring works of more than a hundred Filipino and Philippine-based photographers, photojournalists, as well as artists and hobbyists, the exhibit aims to highlight Filipino talent while sparking conversations on Philippine photography. Alongside the exhibit, the collective will hold online events, such as livestreams of the openings at the main venues, podcasts, and interviews with photographers to gain more insight into their practice and thoughts about the industry.

Interested in paying a visit? Access to all exhibits is free and open to all, but all venues will adhere to the health guidelines and safety protocols in accordance with their respective LGUs. FotomotoPH has also made all the images available for viewing online on their website at https://fotomoto.ph.

Fot... ‘21 Invitational: Portraits will run until March 2022. Some works will only be available for viewing until December 2021.
